In Loving Memory of TrkDoc - Billy Roy Harding
May 23, 1952 - December 13, 2009
Billy Roy Harding, age 57, passed away in Assumption Parish, Louisiana on December 13, 2009. He is survived by a daughter, Rebecca L. Harding of Louisville, Tennessee and a brother, Hugh D. Harding of Benton, Louisiana. Billy was a resident of Holly Bluff, Mississippi, but was originally from Brandon, Mississippi. Billy worked as a diesel mechanic for Empire Truck Sales in Richland, Mississippi for over twenty years, and prior to that worked at Stribling Equipment.
Throughout his lifetime he had many hobbies that he enjoyed while not working. In his late teens and twenties, he enjoyed many church affiliated activities such as being on his church’s softball and bowling teams, and enjoyed singing in a southern gospel group. Billy also enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Mississippi Delta, and later in life began farming with one of his good friends from the delta region. In the last few years of his life, he enjoyed traveling and discovering the wonders that the remote parts of Mississippi as well as several other states had to offer through a hobby called geocaching. It was while out on a hunt for a geocache that Billy was called up to be with the Lord.
Billy had a vast circle of influence while here on earth, and touched many lives during his stay here. He always tried his best to make everyone feel welcomed, and enjoyed sharing his wisdom when needed. He will be missed, but there is joy in knowing we will see him again, as he is with his Lord in Heaven probably singing in the choir, and hiking down every trail available.
