McBroom Family History Project

About McBroom.Org

McBroom.Org has a goal of connecting McBrooms around the world, and helping family members with their genealogy research. Read on to see how we can help you with your McBroom research project.

This site has three main sections:

Forums, Database, and Documents

The two main areas of this site (Forums and Database) are separate websites owned and operated by McBroom.Org. Each has different registrations. Just about everyone will be able to register for the Forums section of this site, but registration for the Database side is possible only through the site administrator.

The Forums linkwill take you to the McBroom Family Research pages. The pages are in the form of discussion forums, broken down by nation and state. Most McBrooms have been recorded in the United States, Great Britain, Scotland, or Ireland, so each of these nations has its own forum. There are some alternate spellings of the McBroom name, and these spellings are welcome here, too. McBrome, McBromius, McBroome, McBrun, McBrwm, and McBrn names are some common variations. This link will open a new page, where all of these discussions are held. Everyone can read what is here, but you have to be registered on the site to make posts or replay to posts.

The Database link will take you to our family tree. Only data for persons born before 1901 is visible to the public. McBroom researchers gain access to the complete files, and add their own research to the tree. To register as a McBroom researcher, send an email using the “Contact” link above. Everyone can see the database entries for people bron before 1910. Only registered users of the database can see people born after 1910, or make entries in the database. Access to making changes in the database (new entries, editing existing entries, etc.) is very limited, and has to be created by the administrator.

Our Documents page has information you might find useful. The purpose of this site is to educate, inform, and share. If you have contributions you’d like to make to the McBroom Documents, please use the “Contact” link to let me know. We can use html, text, MS Word, and other format documents and transcriptions. Before adding them to this site, we will convert them to .pdf format.
If you are researching the McBrooms, and have something you’d like to add to this site that you think would be helpful toother researchers, don’t be shy about adding it to the Genealogy Research pages as a post. If it is a document, just send it to the site administrator. The administrator can be emailed using the address “Allen at McBroom.Org”. replace the “at” with the “at symbol”, which is “@”.
